Overview of the Season 30 in Diablo III
Diablo 3’s Season 30 is set to be the game's final season, after which the seasons will enter a constant rotation instead of adding something completely new. Season 30 will repeat the themes of Season 25, which means it is the first season to introduce the rotation system that will remain in the game forever.
Diablo 3’s 30th season is called The Lords of Hell and will allow players to infuse their characters with the essence of Hell Lords. This is the main mechanic of the season, just like all the way back in S25.
Soul Shards in Diablo 3 Season 30
The main mechanic of this current season is using the soul shards in order to fuse with the essence of Hell Lords. There are 7 different Soul Shards that players can find, and each one of them provides its own unique power. Shards are divided into Prime Evil and Lesser Evil categories.
Each shard can also be upgraded up to 3 times with a special new item called Hellforge Ember. Hellforge embers can be obtained from any in-game activity, however, the highest chance to get them is from Great Rift 75s and above.
The Shards cannot be traded but can be salvaged to be used in Caldesann’s Despair. There are 7 types of soul shards, and we have prepared a full breakdown of each and every one of them.
Types of Soul Shards in Season 30 of D3
Soul Shards are separated into two categories: Prime Evil Shards and Lesser Evil Shards. Let’s take a look at all of them.
Prime Evil Soul Shards
Soul Shard Name |
Soul Shard Base Power |
Soul Shard Additional Power |
Shard of Hatred |
You deal 15% reduced damage while you have 3 or fewer enemies within 25 yards. If more than 3 enemies are within the same distance, you deal 5% increased damage per enemy (to a maximum of 50%). |
|
Silver of Terror |
Your cooldowns are increased by 25%. For every skill on cooldown, you take 12.5% reduced damage and deal 12.5% increased damage. |
|
Fragment of Destruction |
You move unhindered through enemies. Each enemy you pass through receives a Mark of Destruction for 7 seconds. Each marked enemy that dies removes 1 second from one of your skills on cooldown. If the Mark of Destruction expires before the enemies die you lose 2% of your maximum health as damage. Marks are not applied if you are below 35% health. |
|
Now let’s take a look at the Lesser Evil Shards. Woohoo! You've also found a special promo-code. Use BLOG7 to get 7% OFF on your first boosting service!
Lesser Evil Soul Shards
Soul Shard Name |
Soul Shard Base Power |
Soul Shard Additional Power |
Stain of Sin |
You deal 25% less damage. When you kill 50 enemies, you spawn a pool of blood that increases the damage done to elite enemies by 150% and lasts 15 seconds. |
|
Dregs of Lies |
You deal 25% less damage. Your pets deal 25% increased damage. |
|
Essense of Anguish |
Every time you deal poison damage to an enemy you increase your cooldown reduction and movement speed by 2.5% while your damage received is increased by 5% for 10 seconds. Max 10 stacks. |
|
Remnant of Pain |
Your Critical Hit Chance is reduced by 15%. Attacks against Incapacitated enemies are automatically critical hits. |
|
As you can see there are a ton of options that will suit many classes and builds. This is especially true considering that all of these shards can be upgraded up to level 3. You can equip 1 Prime Evil Soul Shard into Helms and 1 Lesser Evil Soul Shard into Weapons.
