Warrior Class Runes and Discovery Locations - Season of Discovery

Runes found in the Season of Discovery function as an extra element to improve Warrior gear, enabling them to acquire a combination of passive and active abilities, thus broadening the capabilities of this in-game class. These runes encapsulate abilities introduced in subsequent expansions of World of Warcraft, as well as novel characteristics within their core.

Season of Discovery Phase 2 Warrior Runes

Blood Surge Rune

Blood Surge – Heroic Strike, Bloodthirst, and Whirlwind have a 30% chance to make your next Slam within 15 sec instant and cost no Rage.

Where to find:

To find the Blood Surge Rune, engage in battles with ogres either in Alterac or Stromgarde. Keep an eye out for the Illegible Recipe, which is a crucial item that initiates the quest called "Anyone Can Cook".

Once you obtain the Illegible Recipe, venture to the southeast of Arathi Highlands and locate Skonk at coordinates /way 59.0, 72.0.

Arathi Highlands Quest Turn-in

Present the Illegible Recipe to Skonk and complete the quest. Skonk will then assign you a follow-up task to gather specific ingredients:

Hybrid Haunch: Acquire this item by defeating Wild Gryphons in the Hinterlands and Hillsbrad Foothills.

Smuggler's Spice Blend: Retrieve it from the sunken vessel's bottom at /way 20.0, 83.0 in Arathi Highlands.

Balmy Brew: Collect the keg from the basement of Angor Fortress in the Badlands.

Viscous Venom: Obtain this ingredient by defeating spiders in the Swamp of Sorrows.

Return to Skonk with the gathered ingredients and confront him in battle to secure your Blood Surge Rune.

Focused Rage Rune

Focused Rage – Reduces the rage cost of your offensive abilities by 3.

Where to find:

Venture into Arathi Highlands and engage Witherbark trolls in and around Witherbark Village, located in the southwest region of the Highlands. Look out for  Witherbark Headhunter, Witherbark Axe Thrower, and Witherbark Witch Doctor.

Once you've acquired the Witherbark Mallet from these trolls, proceed to the entrance of the Witherbark Cave, marked at coordinates /way 63 77.

Arathi Highlands

Enter the cave and locate the Witherbark Gong. Use the Witherbark Mallet to interact with the Gong. This action triggers the appearance of the Witherbark Goliath, a formidable level 35 Elite accompanied by two adds.

Engage and defeat the Witherbark Goliath to claim the Focused Rage Rune as your reward.

Precise Timing Rune

Precise Timing – Slam is now instant but has a 6 sec cooldown.

Where to find:

Begin your journey by traveling to Deadwind Pass and seek out the Dalaran Agent stationed at Ariden's Camp, pinpointed at coordinates (/way #1430 52 35). Upon interaction, the Dalaran Agent will provide you with Ariden's Sigil.

Equip Ariden's Sigil, or accompany another player who possesses it, and proceed to locate and eliminate seven Dark Rider Elites. Trigger the ability "Reveal Dark Rider" using Ariden's Sigil, which will unveil these elusive adversaries. Look out for the telltale sign of their presence indicated by the "Dark Presence" buff.

Here are the locations where you can find the Dark Rider Elites:

Deadwind Pass: (/way #1430 43 29) - Drops Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: (/way #1431 23 47) - Drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: (/way #1435 69 28) - Drops Odd Dalaran Relic

Arathi Highlands: (/way #1417 60 40) - Drops Whirring Dalaran Relic

Badlands: (/way #1418 58 54) - Drops Slippery Dalaran Relic

The Barrens: (/way #1413 52 36) - Drops Heavy Dalaran Relic

Desolace: (/way #1443 65 25) - Drops Creepy Dalaran Relic.

Upon collecting all seven Dalaran Relics, return to the Dalaran Agent to turn in each relic for experience and a silver reward. At maximum level, each turn-in rewards 150 experience.

Once you've returned all seven Dalaran Relics, the Dalaran Agent will offer "A Service to Dalaran," which rewards a Supply Bag containing the coveted Precise Timing Rune.

Enraged Regeneration Rune

Enraged Regeneration – Heals you for 30% of your maximum health over 10 sec, but can only be used while Enrage, Berserker Rage, or Bloodrage is active. Useable while Stunned.

Commence your journey by obtaining the "Highway Robbery" quest in Desolace. Locate an Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard, marked at coordinates /way 47 54.

Proceed to /way 63 39, near Kormek's Hut in Desolace. Deliver the "Highway Robbery" quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and acquire the quest "On the Lam."

Booty Bay:

Travel to the inn in Booty Bay. Present "On the Lam" to Tokal and accept the quest "Cherry for Your Thoughts?". Purchase Cherry Grog from Nixxrax Fillamug nearby for 3 gold and 40 silver. Upon completion, Tokal will assign you the next quest, "No Honor Among Thieves."

Arathi Highlands:

Locate a Rowboat situated under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, approximately around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the Rowboat to teleport to the eastern shore, positioned around /way 93 71.

Locate Illari Duskfeather and engage in conversation. For most races, you'll be presented with two equally hostile dialogue options. Choose one, prompting Illari Duskfeather to engage in combat. Defeat her, retrieve the Dropped Pouch, and loot Illari's Key from it. Open Illari's Loot Cache to obtain the Jewel-Encrusted Box, then unlock this box to retrieve the Rune.

For Night Elves, a peaceful third dialogue solution is available. Choosing this option will result in Illari Duskfeather giving Night Elves Illari's Key, allowing them to access Illari's Loot Cache without engaging in combat.

Intervene Rune

Intervene – Requires Defensive StanceRun at high speed towards a party member, intercepting the next melee or ranged attack made against them as well as reducing their total threat by 10%.

Where to find:

Begin your search in Thousand Needles. Head to the southwest area of Shimmering Flats, located approximately around /way 66 88.

Thousand Needles

Upon reaching the specified location, locate the Combat Dummies.

Execute the following actions on each of the three Combat Dummies:

Execute the first Combat Dummy while wielding a two-handed weapon.

Taunt the second Combat Dummy while dual-wielding.

Shield Bash the third Combat Dummy.

Once you've successfully executed all three actions as instructed, you'll be rewarded with the Rune of Intervention, enabling you to learn the Intervene ability.

Rallying Cry Rune

Rallying Cry – Let loose a rallying cry, granting all party and raid members within 40 yards 15% increased maximum health for 10 sec.

Where to find:

Head to Badlands and search for a level 40 Rare Elite Wandering Swordsman. This elite enemy holds the Rune of the Commander.

Season of Discovery Phase 1 Warrior Runes

During the first phase of WoW SoD, each class had 12 runes that you could unlock on the way to the level cap, which was 25 levels during the first phase in the Season of Discovery. Here is a list of all runes available for Warriors in the beginning:

Victory Rush Rune

Victory Rush – instantly attack the target causing (1 + Attack power * 45 / 100) damage and healing you for 10% of your maximum health.  Only useable within 20 sec after you kill an enemy that yields experience or honor.

Where to find:

In Season of Discovery, attaining Victory Rush at level 2 varies by race:

For Humans (Level 2):

  • Embark on the quest "Investigate Echo Ridge" from Marshal McBride in Northshire, Elwynn Forest.
  • Explore the Echo Ridge Mine, discovering a chest at the mine's rear, containing Victory Rush.

For Dwarves, Gnomes (Level 2):

  • Undertake the quest "Simple Rune" from Sten Stoutarm in Coldridge Valley, Dun Morogh.
  • Progress through the quest to Thran Khorman and defeat trolls, one of which drops Victory Rush.

For Night Elves (Level 2):

  • Accept the quest "Amidst the Shadowed Webs" from Alyissia in Shadowglen, Teldrassil.
  • Venture into the cave in the far northwest of Shadowglen, slaying spiders until Victory Rush drops.

For Undead (Level 2):

  • Start the quest "The Lost Rune" from Dannal Stern in Tirisfal.
  • Head to Night Web’s Hollow, locate a chest in the cave, and claim Victory Rush.

Furious Thunder Rune

Furious Thunder – Thunder Clap now increases the time between attacks by an additional 6%, can be used in any stance, deals 100% increased damage, and deals 50% increased threat.

  • Claim it from Gillgar, patrolling west of the Scarlet Tower at Solliden Farmstead in Tirisfal Glades.

Blood Frenzy Rune

Blood Frenzy – each time you deal Bleed damage, you gain 3 Rage.

  • Defeat the Wandering Swordsman at various locations by challenging him. He drops Blood Frenzy when defeated.

Devastate Rune

Devastate – Sunder Armor also deals 100% weapon damage, increased by 10% per application of Sunder Armor already on the target.

Get Devastate in your starting zone during the Season of Discovery as follows:

Frenzied Assault Rune

Frenzied Assault – while wielding 2-handed weapons, your attack speed is increased by 20%.

Endless Rage Rune

Endless Rage – you generate 25% more Rage from all damage you deal.

Where to find:

Alliance (Westfall): Obtain Old Murk-Eye drop.

Alliance (Loch Modan): Loot Battle Totem in Mo'Grosh Stronghold, challenge Haren Swifthoof (Level 19 Elite), and defeat for the Rune.

Alliance (Darkshore): Eliminate Lady Sedorax surrounded by Twilight Cultists near Cliffspring River for the Endless Rage Rune.

Horde (The Barrens): Acquire Horde Warbanner at Crossroads, replace the Alliance banner at Northwatch Hold, summon a Fear-ability mob, and defeat for the Rune.

Horde (Silverpine Forest): Kill Web Wrap inside Skittering Dark Cave, release Lost Adventurer, and defeat for the Rune.

Quick Strike Rune

Quick Strike – A reckless instant melee attack with your two-handed weapon dealing (Attack power * 10 / 100) to (Attack power * 20 / 100) physical damage. This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Heroic Strike.

Where to find:

Get Quick Strike in the level 10+ quest zones in the Season of Discovery based on your race:

  • For Horde:
    • Talk to Kilxx at the docks in Ratchet in The Barrens.
    • Purchase 1x Fishing Harpoon.
    • Find the shark Bruuz in the bay of Ratchet and use the Fishing Harpoon to defeat it.
  • For Humans:
    • Acquire Gillsbane by killing Defias.
    • Use Gillsbane to kill Murlocs and obtain Soul of the Sea.
    • Visit the Medusa statue at (26,70), interact with it to spawn a level 20 mob.
    • Defeat the mob to obtain Quick Strike.
  • For Night Elves:
  • For Dwarves:

Flagellation Rune

Flagellation – gain a 25% bonus to Physical damage done for 12 sec after activating Bloodrage or Berserker Rage.

Where to find:

Acquire Flagellation in Duskwood by navigating to the Raven Hill Cemetery, looting a Decrepit Phylactery, and using it on the skeleton lying on an altar to spawn Awakened Lich. Defeat Awakened Lich to obtain Flagellation. 

Raging Blow Rune

Raging Blow – a ferocious strike that deals 80% weapon damage, but can only be used while Enrage, Berserker Rage, or Bloodrage is active.

Where to find:

Get Raging Blow by bringing Dragonslayer's Shield , Dragonslayer's Lance, and Dragonslayer's Helm to Alonso in Ashenvale (coordinates: 42 70).

Dragonslayer's Shield is behind Gath'Ilzogg in Stonewatch Keep, Redridge Mountains. Dragonslayer's Lance is sold by the Dark Iron Entrepreneur in Wetlands for 75 currency. Dragonslayer's Helm is behind Commander Springvale in Shadowfang Keep.

Consumed By Rage Rune

Consumed By Rage – enrages you and grants you a 10% melee damage bonus for 12 sec or up to a maximum of 12 swings after you exceed 80 Rage.

Where to find:

Obtain Consumed By Rage from the level 25 Elite mob Carrodin in Thelgen Rock cave in Wetlands (coordinates: 47 64).

Warbringer Rune

Warbringer – Your Charge, Intercept, and Intervene abilities are now usable while in combat and in any stance, and will all remove movement impairing effects when activated.

Where to find:

Acquire Warbringer by completing three level 20 quests in Ratchet, Barrens, involving collecting specific materials, including Fish Oil, Dark Iron Ordinance, and Shredder Turbocharger.

To obtain Shredder Turbochargers  for Grizzby,, use the Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains. Collect 16 of these.

For Dark Iron Ordinance, bring Grizzby, 20 units. Obtain them by defeating Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.

To acquire Fish Oil for Grizzby,, obtain 24 units by defeating murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands. Alternatively, consider using the Auction House, as these items are commonly available.

Single-Minded Fury Rune

Single-Minded Fury – while dual-wielding, your Physical damage and movement speed are increased by 10%.
