Into the Light: Brave Arsenal
Destiny 2 Into the Light: Brave Arsenal Weapons
In Destiny 2 Into the Light releases dozen of weapons in total and each weapon deserves to appear in your collection, thanks to its excellent advantages, archetypes and much more. In order to obtain Brave Arsenal weapons, will need to complete the Onslaught activity. Another way to get it by completing certain tasks, increasing the number of drop-down weapons and opening the desired chest near Shaxx.
Destiny 2 Brave arsenal has a unique passive Origin Trait that will be useful in any of your builds.
The Destiny 2 Into the Light update has a lot of new content that will make every fan come back to the game. We talked about this in more detail in Into the Light Overview, but for now we'll focus on the best weapons in Into the Light, their unique features, how to get them, and important details.
How to get Brave Arsenal Weapons
To gain Brave Arsenal, obtain guns by participating in the Onslaught activity, preferably on Legend difficulty, where you’ll come across many chests with rewards. Moreover, you have the option to boost the likelihood of a particular weapon dropping by 50% when you activate Weapon's Attunement in the Hall of Champions, where holographic statues of Lord Shaxx are prominently displayed.
If you become fatigued while playing Onslaught, you can gather Trophies of Bravery from other activities and return to Shaxx at the Hall of Champions to unlock a loot chest next to him.
Brave Arsenal Perks
Each set of firearms is characterized by a unique Origin Trait and a specific array of perks that sets them apart from their rivals. Let’s quickly go through them:
- The Indomitability Origin Trait provides a 2.5% ability energy from Weapon Final Blow, determined by your chosen Subclass. For instance, if you are playing on the Light side, you will receive Grenade Energy, whereas Melee will be associated with Darkness.
- Desperate Measures gives 10% bonus damage for Weapon Final Blow. If this seems insignificant, just make a Grenade or Melee Kill, and you’ll get an additional 20% on top, making the total bonus damage 30%.
- The Magnificent Howl has undergone a complete redesign. Now, every time you achieve a Precision Final Blow, it adds stacks of Magnificent Howl. When you reload, you will receive an equivalent number of enhanced rounds as the number of buff stacks you had before reloading. The damage buff from Magnificent Howl is a whopping 50%, which is not only great for PvP due to the access to 2-taps but also for PvE, especially when combined with Lucky Pants.
The weapons themselves cannot be crafted, but with the release of The Final Shape, you will have the ability to enhance perks in the third and fourth columns. Unfortunately, changing Barrels, Magazines, and Masterwork won’t be possible.
The Recluse, Submachine Gun
If you played Destiny 2 before sunsetting, you remember how Recluse dominated everywhere and was in everyone’s inventory. Now, the father of all SMGs has returned and is ready to burst into the meta again.
Recluse God Roll for PvE:
- Repulsor Brace / Enlightened Action / Subsistence;
- Desperate Measures / Frenzy / Destabilizing Rounds.
Recluse God Roll for PvP:
- Dynamic Sway Reduction / Threat Detector;
- Master of Arms / Tap the Trigger.
The Recluse is also useful in PvE, but it can easily become part of the best PvP weapon Into the Light!
Edge Transit, Heavy Grenade Launcher
Edge Transit is a Heavy Grenade Launcher that is considered one of the best in Destiny 2. It features a familiar combo from Cataphract GL3, including the perks Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch. This combo is indeed great on its own, offering a 30% bonus damage and a 200% overfilled magazine.
Edge Transit God Roll for PvE:
- Cascade Point / Envious Assassin;
- Bait and Switch.
You can quickly deal massive damage during DPS phases without needing to worry about reloading.
Falling Guillotine, Sword
Falling Guillotine - old favorite and the second Heavy contending for the title of best in the game. The main feature of this Vortex Sword is the combination of two damage perks, something never done on this type of weapon. In addition to this, the developers have also included the best perks for Swords, namely Surrounded and Bait and Switch.
Falling Guillotine God Roll for PvE:
- Frenzy / Vorpal Weapon;
- Surrounded / Bait and Switch / Eager Edge.
The much-loved Eager Edge is also included in Falling Guillotine, so there's no need to worry if you didn't have time to farm a Godroll Slammer.
Hung Jury SR4, Scout Rifle
Hung Jury SR4, a Scout Rifle, is back for the fourth time in our Guardians’ hands, and even here, the developers have managed to surprise us. The notable feature of this Scout Rifle is the Kinetic Tremors in the third column! While some may be disappointed by the absence of this perk's combination with Shoot to Loot, the despair quickly dissipates upon checking the fourth column.
Hung Jury God Roll for PvE:
- Kinetic Tremors;
- Explosive Payload / One for All / Precision Instrument / Desperate Measures / Firefly.
Hung Jury God Roll for PvP:
- Rapid Hit / No Distractions;
- Box Breathing / Cascade Point.
In conclusion, the Hung Jury SR4 is among the top-tier primary weapons, capable of inflicting significant damage while providing safe distance from enemies. So, you must include HJSR4 in your “Into the Light weapons to get” list.
Elsie’s Rifle, Pulse Rifle
For those familiar with Destiny, the Stranger's Rifle may bring back fond memories, as it could be obtained after completing the original campaign story. The good news is that it has now made a return to Destiny 2 as a Void energy weapon!
Elsie’s Rifle God Roll for PvE:
- Repulsor Brace / Under-Over / Rewind Rounds;
- Destabilizing Rounds / Frenzy / Desperate Measures.
Elsie’s Rifle God Roll for PvP:
- Zen Moment / Keep Away;
- Headseeker / Kill Clip.
If you prefer Stability and Anti-Flinch, Zen Moment is undoubtedly the choice here. In the fourth column, the apparent favorite is Headseeker, as it’s always nice to have bonus aim assistance and crit damage for random body shots. Kill Clip is also an interesting option as it makes performing Kill Streaks in 6v6 easier with bonus damage.
Succession, Sniper Rifle
Players who have never visited Deep Stone Crypt can finally experience one of the most powerful Sniper Rifles. Its strength lies in having Reconstruction and good damage perks like Vorpal Weapon and Recombination, making it easy to deal great damage to distant enemies.
Succession God Roll for PvE:
- Reconstruction;
- Vorpal Weapon / Recombination / Firing Line.
Succession God Roll for PvP:
- Discord;
- Snapshot Sights.
The new Succession in Destiny 2 may interest you in PvP because of the Discord perk, which in the new Sandbox lets you have infinite Special Ammo, although you have to take down someone with Primary first.
The Mountaintop, Special Grenade Launcher
After four years post-Sunset, the cherished The Mountaintop has made a triumphant return. Its distinctiveness lay in the exclusive Micro-Missile perk, allowing this GL to shoot in a straight line with increased projectile speed. However, the new version of The Mountaintop lacks this perk, as it has been transformed into a full-fledged archetype!
The Mountaintop God Roll for PvE:
- Impulse Amplifier / Auto-loading Holster / Ambitious Assassin / Demolitionist / Lead from Gold;
- Vorpal Weapon / Frenzy / Recombination.
The Mountaintop God Roll for PvP:
- Impulse Amplifier / Auto-loading Holster;
- Harmony.
If you’re looking for Into the Light weapons to farm first, Mountaintop should definitely be at the top of your list.
Midnight Coup, Hand Cannon
Few thought that any Hand Cannon (HC) could powercreep Fatebringer in PvE, and even fewer thought that HC would be Midnight Coup from Destiny 2 Brave Arsenal. Not only does it have an Explosive Payload + Frenzy combo, but it also has perks that no other weapon can boast. It’s worth noting the combination of Explosive Payload + Kinetic Tremors, which excellently counters Overload Champs if Overload Hand Cannons are in the Artifact.
Midnight Coup God Roll for PvE:
- Explosive Payload / Firefly;
- Kinetic Tremors / Frenzy / One for All / Desperate Measures.
Midnight Coup God Roll for PvP:
- Moving Target / Explosive Payload;
- Zen Moment / Opening Shot.
If you're seeking a Hand Cannon for add-clearing, then Midnight Coup with Firefly and any perk from the fourth column will undoubtedly serve you well.
Luna’s Howl, Hand Cannon
Luna's Howl is a one-of-a-kind high-precision Hand Cannon with a very pleasant recoil and high Airborne Effectiveness. Besides, this weapon from Brave Arsenal is the only one currently with Magnificent Howl in its Perk Pool. We’ve already written about it before, and you should try it both in PvE and PvP.
Luna’s How God Roll for PvE:
- Heal Clip;
- Incandescent / Desperate Measures / Magnificent Howl.
Luna’s How God Roll for PvP:
- Slideshot / Eye of the Storm;
- Magnificent Howl / Opening Shot / Precision Instrument.
It's no surprise that players consider it one of the best Brave Arsenal weapons in Destiny 2.
Forbearance, Special Grenade Launcher
Forbearance, a weapon that has been part of the meta since its release, has undergone few changes apart from the modification of its Origin Trait and the introduction of an intriguing new perk. While the combination of Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction remains, the focus has now shifted to the addition of Demolitionist as a noteworthy first perk.
Forbearance God Roll for PvE:
- Demolitionist / Ambitious Assassin;
- Chain Reaction.
Certainly, the previous version will remain significant thanks to the Soul Drinker Origin Trait, while the new Forbearance serves as an excellent alternative for those not participating in Raids.
Hammerhead, Heavy Machine Gun
Years later, Hammerhead has made its return as part of the Brave Arsenal weapons, exceeding our expectations with significant improvements. Rampage is particularly noteworthy, as a damage perk in the third column is a rare occurrence for a Heavy Weapon. Additionally, the potential to further increase your damage in the fourth column is another valuable feature.
Hammerhead God Roll for PvE:
- Rampage / Rewind Rounds / Fourth Time’s the Charm / Destabilizing Rounds;
- Killing Tally / Onslaught / Target Lock / Desperate Measures.
Hammerhead God Roll for PvP:
- Rampage/Under-Over, Tap the Trigger/High-Impact Reserves.
The uniqueness of Hammerhead doesn’t stop there. Fourth Time’s the Charm combined with Target Lock also stands as a decent option in case you find yourself needing to deal damage to a boss suddenly. In terms of PvP, there's not much to discuss, as the very high Aim Assistance and decent stats speak for themselves.
Blast Furnace, Pulse Rifle
The last weapon on our list is Blast Furnace, which, like the previous ones, has its own unique new combinations of perks. Let’s start with Kinetic Tremors in the third column, just like the new Hung Jury SR4. Since the created shockwaves will surely hit several enemies at once, you should try to use One for All, which gives a 35% damage buff from dealing damage to three mobs. Although this combination is quite potent in any content, the low Reload Speed can be a problem for some. In this case, Frenzy, which, in addition to a pleasant 15% bonus damage, also gives 100 Reload Speed and Handling, will undoubtedly be useful. Firefly could also help with Reload Speed, but for this, you will have to make Precision Final Blows.
Blast Furnace God Roll for PvE:
- Kinetic Tremors;
- Frenzy / One for All / Desperate Measures / Firefly.
Blast Furnace God Roll for PvP:
- Headseeker / Zen Moment / Keep Away;
- Rapid Hit / Kill Clip.
Blast Furnace in PvP will be an excellent alternative to Belisarius-D from Competitive. For those who prioritize range, Keep Away is also available in the third column. However, as powerful as it may be, it's unlikely to surpass its competitors.
