Season of Discovery Phase 2 Druid Runes

During the second phase of the Season of Discovery, Druids can find a total of 6 new runes. These runes cover a diverse range of abilities, with some specifically assisting in healing and tanking, while others bolstering damage-dealing capabilities. Here is the list of all of them, and where you can find them.

Berserk

Berserk makes it so that when it is activated, it causes your Mangle (Bear) ability to hit up to 3 targets and have no cooldown, and reduces the energy cost of all your Cat Form abilities by 50%.  Lasts 15 sec. Requires Bear Form, Cat Form, or Dire Bear Form to activate. It also clears the effect of Fear and makes you immune to Fear for the duration.

Where to find:

  • Travel to Thousand Needles at approximately /way 69 55 and receive the Beast Effigy buff.
  • Cast Challenging Roar on the Beastly Effigy, which will spawn Zai'enki.
  • Kill this elite and loot Idol of the Heckler. Equip it.
  • Taunt two or more enemies at once with Challenging Roar and kill at least one of them during the taunt. Repeat this five times to get the rune.

Eclipse

Eclipse makes it so Starfire increases the critical strike chance of your next two Wraths by 30%, and Wrath reduces the cast time of your next Starfire by 1.0 sec, both effects stacking up to 4 charges. Both spells also gain 70% chance at all times to not lose casting time when you take damage.

Where to find:

  • Travel to Desolace and accept the Highway Robbery quest in Desolace at an Extinguished Campfire at /way 47 54.
  • Travel to /way 63 39 and turn the quest in to Bibbly F'utzbuckle. Accept the quest called On the Lam.
  • Travel to the inn in Booty Bay. Turn in your quest in Tokal, and pick up Cherry for Your Thoughts?. Buy Cherry Grog. Travel to the next part of your quest: No Honor Among Thieves.
  • Travel to Arathi Highlands and find a Rowboat under the bridge at /53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat and you will be teleported to the eastern shore.
  • Locate Illari Duskfeather and engage her in conversation. She will present two equally hostile dialogue options. Upon selecting one, she will initiate combat. Defeat her in battle, retrieve the dropped bag, and loot Illari's Key. Then, use the key to unlock the Jewel-Encrusted Box and obtain the Rune stored within.

Dreamstate

Dreamstate makes it so your damaging spell critical strikes grant you 50% of your mana regeneration while casting for 8 sec and increase Nature damage dealt to the target by 20% for 12 sec.

Where to find:

  • Eliminate Kolkar Centaurs in the eastern region of Desolace near coordinates /way 73, 49 until you acquire the Desiccated Seed Pod.
  • Head south to the pond located near coordinates /way 70, 70. Swim in the pond until the Desiccated Seed Pod transforms into the Satyrweed Bulb.
  • Proceed north to Sargeron in the northeast corner. Plant the seed in the Sandy Loam area near coordinates /way 75, 20. Doing so will grant you the Rune as a reward.

Survival Instincts

Survival Instincts make it so that when activated, this grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 seconds. After the effect expires, the health is lost. Useable in any form. In addition, you regenerate 5 rage every time you dodge while in Bear Form or Dire Bear Form, 10 energy while in Cat Form, or 1% of your maximum mana while in any other form.

Where to find:

  • In the Swamp of Sorrows, locate Amaryllis Webb at coordinates /way 25.0 54.2. She offers an Entomology Starter Kit for 50. This kit includes a net and a guide.
  • In Stranglethorn Vale, head to the Lake Nazferiti logging camp. Catch an Arbor Tarantula situated on a tree stump around coordinates /way 45 19 to acquire an Arbor Tarantula Specimen.
  • In Arathi Highlands, make your way to Northfold Manor. Within any of the barns or stables, capture a Hay Weevil to acquire a Hay Weevil Specimen, typically found around coordinates /way 31 28.
  • In Desolace, venture to the Kodo Graveyard. Capture a Flesh Picker within the bone graveyard area to obtain a Flesh Picker Specimen, typically found around coordinates /way 51 59.
  • Return to Amaryllis Webb in the Swamp of Sorrows and claim the Rune as a testament to your bug-hunting skills.

Nourish

Nourish heals a friendly target for (161 / 100 *) to (189 / 100 *). Heals for an additional 20% if you have a Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Lifebloom, or Wild Growth effect active on the target. This spell benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Healing Touch.

Where to find:

  • Head to Dustwallow Marsh and eliminate the Rotting Ancient located approximately at coordinates 45, 51.
  • Collect the Rotten Seed from the Rotting Ancient's loot, initiating the quest "The Lost Ancient."
  • Teleport to Moonglade and speak with Orokai to complete the quest "The Lost Ancient." Afterward, accept the follow-up quest "The Lost Saplings" from him.
  • Upon accepting "The Lost Saplings," a 1-hour timer begins for the Rune discovery process.
  • First, loot the Crystal Waters of Lake Elune'ara to obtain the Water of Lake Elune'ara.
  • Without teleporting, dying, or allowing the timer to expire, players must locate and water four separate Saplings across the Eastern Kingdoms:

Alterac Mountains: Ancient Sapling located at coordinates (/way 58, 44)

Arathi Highlands: Ancient Sapling located at coordinates (/way 47, 72)

Swamp of Sorrows: Ancient Sapling located at coordinates (/way 10, 39)

Stranglethorn Vale: Ancient Sapling located at coordinates (/way 33, 65)

  • After watering all Saplings, return to Orokai within the time limit to complete the quest and receive the Rune.

King of the Jungle

King of the Jungle Makes it so Tiger's Fury now increases all physical damage you deal by 15% instead of by a flat value, and instantly grants you 60 Energy. It is no longer on the global cooldown, but it now has its own 30 sec cooldown.

Where to find:

After turning in all the runes you will receive a quest called A Service to Dalaran. You will receive a Supply Bag as a reward. The rune is inside.

Druid Runes from Phase 1 of SoD

For those who can’t wait to locate lower-level Druid runes available in the Season of Discovery, it's essential to know their specific locations. Here is the full list of the runes that were added in the first phase of SoD and are relevant to characters of levels 1 to 25

Fury of Stormrage

Fury of Stormrage reduces the mana cost of Wrath by 100%. Each time you deal damage with Wrath you have a 12% chance for your next cast of Healing Touch within 15 sec to be instant.

Where to find:

  • Night Elf: Accept the Relics of the Kaldorei quest in your starting area in Teldrassil at 58.6, 40.4. Find and kill Grellkin in Teldrassil to receive a Lunar Idol. Equip said idol into your relic slot and kill 6 enemies affected by your Moonfire. Use the Lunar Idol to obtain your rune.
  • Tauren: Accept Relics of the Tauren quest in your starting area in Thunder Bluff at 45, 76. Find and loot the chest in Mulgore at 61, 76 to receive a Lunar Idol. Equip said idol into your relic slot and kill 6 enemies affected by your Moonfire. Use the Lunar Idol to obtain your rune.

Living Seed

Living Seed makes it so that when you critically heal your target with any healing spell you plant a Living Seed on the target for 30% of the amount healed. The Living Seed will bloom when the target is next attacked. Lasts 15 sec.

Where to find:

  • Find and collect 3x Glade Flower in your starting area (no need to have Herbalism for this). Combine these flowers to receive a Glade Crown.
  • Find a Wooden Effigy enemy in Mulgore at 37.8, 49.4 (for Taurens), or in Teldrassil at 66.8, 58 (for Night Elves). Doing so will spawn an Unleashed Nature Spirit.
  • Kill it and get your rune.

Sunfire

Sunfire Gain the Sunfire ability and while in Bear Form, Cat Form, or Dire Bear Form your Moonfire is replaced with Sunfire (Bear) or Sunfire (Cat).

This spell benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Moonfire:

  • Burns the enemy for (130 */ 100) to (152 */ 100) Nature damage and then an additional (65 * 4 */ 100) Nature damage over 12 sec.
  • Burns the enemy for (130 */ 100) to (152 */ 100) Nature damage and then an additional (65 * 4 */ 100) Nature damage over 12 sec.
  • Burns the enemy for (130 */ 100) to (152 */ 100) Nature damage and then an additional (65 * 4 */ 100) Nature damage over 12 sec. Awards 1 combo point.

Where to find:

Trave to Mulgore at 35.72, 69.61 (for Tauren) or to Teldrassil at 52.58, 78.7 (for Night Elves). Cast Moonfire on all three Lunar Stones. Loot the chest that appears to get your rune.

Wild Strikes

Wild Strikes make it so that while you are in Cat Form, Bear Form, or Dire Bear Form, party members within 20 yards gain increased combat ferocity. Each melee hit has a 20% chance of granting the attacker an extra attack with 20% additional Attack Power. No effect if the party member is already benefitting from Windfury Totem.

Where to find:

Travel to Stonetalon Mountains and kill Grimtotem Ruffian at around 76.6, 91 until one of them drops the rune. This spot works both for the Horde and Alliance.

Wild Growth

Wild Growth heals all of the target player's party members within 40 yards of the target player for (34 / 100 * 7 *) over 7 sec. The amount healed is applied quickly at first and slows down as Wild Growth reaches its full duration.

Where to find:

  • Travel to Ashenvale and find an Owl statue at 89, 41. 
  • Brace yourself to survive 6 waves of level 25 enemies in a row. 
  • After interacting with the statue travel to the Twilight Grove at 50, 35. 
  • There will be a boar named Agon that you need to kill.
  • Lastly, go to Hillsbrand Foothills and activate statues at 36, 75, and 53, 81. Be quick, because you only have around 2 minutes to activate the second statue after the first.
  • Bring all three symbols you’ve found to a druid trainer in Mulgore to receive your reward.

Savage Roar

Savage Roar makes it so your finishing move increases physical damage done by 30% while in Cat Form. Lasts longer per combo point:

  • 1 point: 14 seconds;
  • 2 points: 19 seconds;
  • 3 points: 24 seconds;
  • 4 points: 29 seconds;
  • 5 points: 34 seconds.

Where to find:

Obtain Ferocious Idol from Kolkar’s Booty Chest in the Barrens at 44.3, 37.7 (for Tauren), or from Riverpaw Miner in Westfall at 52, 38 (for Night Elves). Equip said idol into your relic slot. Deal bleeding damage 20 times to humanoid enemies and use the idol to get your rune.

Skull Bash

Skull Bash makes you charge to a target within 13 yards and bash the target's skull, interrupting spellcasting and preventing any spell in that school from being cast for 2 sec. Shares a cooldown with Feral Charge.

Where to find:

Submit supply shipments for reputation and, upon reaching an "Honored" reputation with your faction, you can purchase this rune from the faction's reputation vendor for a cost of 4 gold and 50 silver.

Starsurge

Starsurge makes you launch surging stellar energies that cause (135 / 100 *) to (165 / 100 *) Arcane damage. Starsurge benefits from and triggers most talents and effects that trigger or benefit from Wrath or Starfire.

Where to find:

Find a Dwarf in Wetlands at 36, 15 and obtain a Marshroom from him. Then go to the pool at 31, 18 and eat it. Talk to the frog and the rune is yours.

Survival of the Fittest

Survival of the Fittest reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by 6% and reduces all damage taken by 10%. Damage taken reduced by an additional 10% while in Bear Form or Dire Bear Form.

Where to find:

At level 20 travel to Ratchet and find an NPC called Grizzby. You will need to complete 3 quests for him, which are mostly about gathering various items. Those items are:

  • 16x Shredder Turbocharger: You can get this by using the Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredder.
  • 20x Dark Iron Ordinance: This item can be found as a drop from Dark Iron Dwarves in Wetlands.
  • 24x Fish Oil: This item can be found as a drop from Murlocs and Naga of level 25 and higher.

After completing these quests the rune will become available for purchase from Grizzby for 5 gold.

Lacerate

Lacerate damages the enemy target, making them bleed for (* 20 / 100 * 5) damage over 15 sec plus 20% weapon damage per existing application of Lacerate on the target. Causes a high amount of threat. This effect stacks up to 5 times on the same target.

Where to find:

  • Tauren: Travel to Barrens at 44, 22 and find eggs in the Forgotten Pools. Transport them to their Nest at 48, 40 to get the rune.
  • Night Elf: Kill Fulborgs in Darkshore to get Crab Treats. Feed those treats to a Young Reef Crawler at 36, 54 until you get the rune.

Mangle

Mangle makes it so you gain the Mangle (Bear) ability and replace your Claw ability with Mangle (Cat). This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.

  • Mangle the target for 160% normal damage and cause the target to take 30% additional damage from Bleed effects and Shred for 1 min. This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.
  • Mangle the target for 300% normal damage and cause the target to take 30% additional damage from Bleed effects and Shred for 1 min. Awards 1 combo point. This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.

Where to find:

Find and kill Flatland Prowlers in the northern part of Thunder Bluff (for Tauren), or Rageclaws in Teldrassil (for Night Elves) until you find an Idol of Ursine Rage. Equip it to your relic slot. Keep your rage at 50 and higher for a minute straight. Use the idol to get your rune.

Lifebloom

Lifebloom reduces the global cooldown on your Rejuvenation and Lifebloom abilities by 0.5 sec and you gain the Lifebloom ability: Heals the target for (4 / 100 * 7 *) over 7 sec. When Lifebloom completes its duration or is dispelled, the target instantly heals for (57 / 100 *) and the Druid regains half the cost of the spell. This effect can stack up to 3 times on the same target.

Where to find:

  • This rune requires two players to obtain.
  • Find a corpse in Mulgore at 60, 33 (for Tauren), or 33, 35 in Teldrassil (for Night Elves). Interact with it to summon a portal. Make the second player click on the said portal so the ghost will spawn.
  • Ghost will immediately perish, and you will be able to loot the rune from its corpse.
