Paladinn Class Runes and Discovery Locations - Season of Discovery

Runes in the Season of Discovery serve as an additional element to enhance Paladin equipment, allowing them to gain both passive and active abilities, expanding the functionality of this class in the game. Runes embody skills introduced in WoW's later expansions, as well as new features in their essence.

Season of Discovery Phase 2 Paladin Runes

Enlightened Judgements Rune

Enlightened Judgements increases the range on your Judgement by 30 yards and your spell hit with all spells by 17%.

Where to find:

To find the Enlightened Judgements Rune, you need to gather three Tarnished Prayer Beads, purify them into Divine Prayer Beads, and then turn them in to Brother Atticus in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands. 

Here's how to find each Tarnished Prayer Bead and purify them:

Tarnished Prayer Bead I:

Location: Drops from various humanoid mobs in Arathi Highlands and Wetlands.

Action to Purify: Cast Blessing of Might and kill an enemy.

Tarnished Prayer Bead II:

Location: Drops from Boulderfist Ogre in Arathi Highlands.

Action to Purify: Cast Divine Shield with less than 10% health remaining.

Tarnished Prayer Bead III:

Location: Drops from Witherbark Shadow Hunter in Arathi Highlands.

Action to Purify: Use Seal of Justice with Judgement on a fleeing enemy.

Once you have all three purified Divine Prayer Beads, take them to Brother Atticus in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands, and turn them in to receive the Enlightened Judgements Rune.

Remember, the specified actions for purifying each Tarnished Prayer Bead must be performed before turning them in for purification.

Sheath of Light Rune

Sheath of Light – dealing damage with your melee weapon increases your spell power by an amount equal to 30% of your attack power for 1 min. In addition, your critical healing spells heal the target for 60% of the healed amount over 12 sec.

To find the Sheath of Light Rune, follow these steps:

The Broken Hammer:

Start by locating a Broken Hammer on the ground in Mannoroc Cove, Desolace, at coordinates /way 52.6, 84.8. This will trigger the quest "The Broken Hammer."

Retrieve the Torn Letter:

Slay nearby Burning Blade Summoner mobs in Mannoroc Cove to loot the required Torn Letter.

Speak to Katherine the Pure:

Head to Stormwind Cathedral and speak to Katherine the Pure, located at coordinates /way 37.8 31.6. Turn in "The Broken Hammer" quest and listen to what she has to say to trigger the follow-up quest, "A Lost Brother."

Speak to Harold Riggs:

Travel to Menethil Harbor in Wetlands and speak to Harold Riggs on the docks, at coordinates /way 8.2 58.6.

Retrieve Orders from the Grand Crusader:

Swim south along the coastline of Wetlands until you reach Newman's Landing in Dun Morogh, at coordinates /way 18.0, 74.5. Look for the body of a fallen crusader. Defeat the ambushers around the body, pick up Orders from the Grand Crusader, and accept the next quest, "Orders from the Grand Crusader."

Return to Stormwind Cathedral:

Head back to Stormwind's Cathedral and speak to Katherine the Pure again. Turn in the quest "Orders from the Grand Crusader."

Defeat High Inquisitor Whitemane:

Enter Scarlet Monastery Cathedral and defeat High Inquisitor Whitemane. Gain access to her chambers and locate Aeonas the Vindicated.

Return to Katherine the Pure:

Head back to Stormwind and speak to Katherine the Pure once more to turn in the final quest, "Aeonas the Vindicated," and earn the Sheath of Light Rune.

Infusion of Light Rune

Infusion of Light increases the damage done by your Holy Shock by 20%, and your damaging critical strikes with Holy Shock reset the cooldowns on Holy Shock and Exorcism and refund the cost of Holy Shock.

Where to find:

Obtain Ariden's Sigil:

Travel to Deadwind Pass and speak with the Dalaran Agent at Ariden's Camp, located at coordinates /way #1430 52 35. They will provide you with Ariden's Sigil.

Reveal Dark Rider:

Equip Ariden's Sigil or accompany another player who has it equipped.

Use Ariden's Sigil to reveal Dark Rider NPCs in various zones. You'll know a Dark Rider is nearby if you obtain the Dark Presence buff.

Kill Dark Rider Elites:

Locate and kill seven Dark Rider Elites in different zones after using Ariden's Sigil to reveal them. 

Each Dark Rider Elite will drop a different Dalaran Relic:

Deadwind Pass: Dark Rider located at /way #1430 43 29, drops Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: Dark Rider located at /way #1431 23 47, drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: Dark Rider located at /way #1435 69 28, drops Odd Dalaran Relic

Arathi Highlands: Dark Rider located at /way #1417 60 40, drops Whirring Dalaran Relic

Badlands: Dark Rider located at /way #1418 58 54, drops Slippery Dalaran Relic

The Barrens: Dark Rider located at /way #1413 52 36, drops Heavy Dalaran Relic

Desolace: Dark Rider located at /way #1443 65 25, drops  Creepy Dalaran Relic.

Return the Relics:

Once you've obtained all seven Dalaran Relics, return to the Dalaran Agent at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass.

Turn in each of the various reward quests for experience and some silver. At maximum level, each request rewards 1 50 Curious Dalaran Relic.

Receive the Rune:

After returning all seven Dalaran Relics, the NPC will offer you "A Service to Dalaran," which rewards a Supply Bag containing the Infusion of Light Rune inside.

Guarded by the Light Rune

Guarded by the Light – each time you hit a target with your melee weapon, you gain 5% of your maximum mana per 3 sec for 15 sec, but the amount healed by your Flash of Light, Holy Light, and Holy Shock spells is reduced by 50% during this mana regeneration.

Where to find:

Enter the Ruins of Alterac:

Travel to Alterac Mountains. Make sure to bring along another healer who can resurrect you.

Locate the Dormant Holy Rune:

Once inside the Ruins of Alterac, find the skeleton on the south-facing wall. Click on it to loot the Dormant Holy Rune.

Cast Divine Intervention:

After obtaining the Dormant Holy Rune, cast Divine Intervention on another player. This will temporarily remove you from combat and protect you from harm.

Receive the Rune:

While under the effect of Divine Intervention, have your healer resurrect you. This action will trigger the activation of the Dormant Holy Rune, and you will learn the Guarded by the Light Rune.

Sacred Shield Rune

Sacred Shield – each time the target takes damage they gain a Sacred Shield, absorbing (36 */ 100) damage and increasing the Paladin's chance to critically hit with Flash of Light by 50% for up to 6 sec.  In addition, causes your Flash of Light to heal targets with Sacred Shield for an additional 100% over 12 sec. They cannot gain this effect more than once every 6 sec.  Lasts 30 sec.  This spell cannot be on more than one target at any one time.

Where to find:

Visit Nijel's Point in Desolace:

Head to Nijel's Point in Desolace, located at coordinates /way 66.5 7.6.

Loot the Libram of Deliverance:

Inside the building at Nijel's Point, look for a book on the bench. Loot the Libram of Deliverance from there.

Equip the Libram of Deliverance:

Once you have the Libram of Deliverance in your inventory, equip it.

Use Blessing of Freedom:

With the Libram of Deliverance equipped, use Blessing of Freedom to free others from movement impairing effects five times. This spell is typically used to remove effects like snares, roots, and slows.

Learn the Sacred Shield Rune:

After successfully using Blessing of Freedom five times, right-click on the equipped Libram of Deliverance. This action will allow you to learn the Sacred Shield Rune.

The Art of War Rune

The Art of War – your melee critical strikes reset the cooldowns on Holy Shock and Exorcism.

Where to find:

Obtain the Highway Robbery Quest:

Travel to Desolace and locate an Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard, around coordinates /way 47 54. Accept the Highway Robbery quest there.

Speak to Bibbly F'utzbuckle:

Head to the area near Kormek's Hut in Desolace, around coordinates /way 63 39. Turn in the Highway Robbery quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the quest On the Lam.

Visit Booty Bay:

Travel to Booty Bay and go to the inn. Turn in the quest  On the Lam to Tokal, the innkeeper, and pick up the quest Cherry for Your Thoughts?. Purchase Cherry Grog from Tokal.

Continue the Quest Chain:

Follow the quest chain given by Tokal, which will lead you to the next part of your quest, No Honor Among Thieves.

Locate the Rowboat in Arathi Highlands:

Travel to Arathi Highlands and find the Rowboat located under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, around coordinates /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map.

Interact with Illari Duskfeather:

Speak with Illari Duskfeather at the Rowboat. Depending on your race, she will either engage you in combat or offer you a dialogue option. If combat is initiated, defeat her to obtain Illari's Key.

Open the Jewel-Encrusted Box:

Loot Illari's Key from her body and use it to unlock the Jewel-Encrusted Box. Inside the box, you'll find The Art of War Rune.

Season of Discovery Phase 1 Paladin Runes

Phase 1 of WoW SoD has introduced 12 runes that you can unlock on the way to the first level cap, which was 25 levels upon the release of the first phase in the Season of Discovery. Here is a list of all runes available for Paladins:

Crusader Strike Rune

Crusader Strike is an instant strike that causes 75% weapon damage and regenerates 5% of your maximum mana.

Where to find:

In the Season of Discovery, attaining Crusader Strike at level 2 depends on your race:

For Humans:

• Begin the quest Relics of the Light from Brother Sammuel in Elwynn Forest.
• Acquire the Libram of Judgement by defeating nearby Defias.
• Inflict 10 seals on foes using Judgement.
• Activate the Libram of Judgement to obtain Crusader Strike.

For Dwarves:

• Initiate the quest Relics of the Light from Bromos Grummner in Dun Morogh.
• Obtain the Libram of Judgement from Frostmane Trolls in the vicinity.
• Apply 10 seals with Judgement.
• Utilize the Libram of Judgement to gain Crusader Strike.

Aegis Rune

Aegis increases your block value by 30% and damaging melee and ranged attacks against you have a 10% chance to increase your chance to block by 30%.  Lasts 10 sec or 5 blocks. Effect not cumulative with Redoubt (Proc chance: 10%).

Where to find:

To acquire Aegis in your starting zone during Season of Discovery:

Reach level 8 and learn Purify.

In Elwynn Forest, purify a Wounded Adventurer in Jasperlode Mines' spider section.

In Dun Morogh, purify a Wounded Adventurer near Gnomeregan.

Inspiration Exemplar Rune

Inspiration Exemplar - Your inspiring presence periodically dispels Fear and Sleep effects on nearby party members.

Where to find:

To obtain Inspiration Exemplar in the Season of Discovery, enlist the help of a companion:

For Humans, east of Jerod’s Landing in Elwynn Forest, find Adventurer's Remains.

For Dwarves, west of Kharanos in Dun Morogh, locate Adventurer's Remains.

In both cases ask the second player to right-click Adventurer's Spirit.

Rebuke Rune

Rebuke interrupts spellcasting and prevents any spell in that school from being cast for 3 sec.

Where to find:

Attain Rebuke in Stormwind City and Ironforge by completing specific tasks:

For Humans and Dwarves, follow instructions provided by Liv Bradford in Stormwind City and Bruuk Barleybeard in Ironforge.

Horn of Lordaeron Rune

Horn of Lordaeron - the Paladin blows the Horn of Lordaeron, which increases total Strength and Agility of all party members within 30 yards by 6. Lasts 2 min. Exclusive with Blessing of Might.

Where to find:

Obtaining Horn of Lordaeron in level 10+ quest zones during the Season of Discovery requires distinct actions for Dwarves and Humans. 

Loch Modan:

Find a Libram of Blessings in Thelsamar tavern.

Bless 5 different players.

Westfall:

Loot Libram of Blessings from Undead in Westfall.

Bless 5 different players.

Hand of Reckoning Rune

Hand of Reckoning Taunts the target to attack you, but has no effect if the target is already attacking you.

Where to find:

Unlock Hand of Reckoning in level 10+ quest zones during the Season of Discovery in Loch Modan and Westfall. Detailed instructions are provided for each location.

Find Sunken Reliquary in Stonesplitter Valley cave, loot Libram of Justice,.

Kill 10 enemies that were stunned by Hammer of Justice.

Westfall:

Loot Libram of Justice from Defias Drone in Westfall.

Kill 10 enemies that were stunned by Hammer of Justice.

Seal of Martyrdom Rune

Seal of Martyrdom fills you with holy spirit for 30 sec, causing each of your melee attacks to deal 40% weapon damage to your target, but you lose health equal to 10% of the damage inflicted. While this seal is active, your party and raid members within 40 yards each gain mana equal to 20% of damage you take from this seal.

Unleashing this Seal's energy will judge an enemy, instantly causing 70% weapon damage at the cost of health equal to 10% of the damage inflicted.

Where to find:

Communicate with Brother Romulus at Stormwind Cathedral.

Descend the western stairway to the lowest level.

Find a note on a ledge near a candle at coordinates 33 24.7.

Head to an island at the river intersection in Duskwood (coordinates 4.4 28.4.

Confront Ada Gelhardt on the island, ensuring you deal the final blow for credit.

Talk to Ada to receive the rune.

Exorcist Rune

Exorcist – Exorcism can now be cast on any target and has 100% increased critical strike chance against Undead and Demons.

Where to find:

Acquire the Libram of Banishment in Duskwood by defeating specific Defias mobs: Defias Night Runner, Defias Night Blade, and Defias Enchanter around Yorgen Farmstead and the farm south of Raven Hill Cemetery. To unlock the Exorcist ability, perform Turn Undead on five enemies and eliminate them with Exorcism.

Divine Storm Rune

Divine Storm is an instant weapon attack that causes 110% of weapon damage to up to 4 enemies within 8 yards.  The Divine Storm heals up to 3 party or raid members totaling 25% of the damage caused.

Where to find:

Tower of Althalaxx:

Click on the orb located at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Northern Darkshore.

Advice From Stormwind:

Go to Maestra’s Post in Ashenvale and speak with Delgren the Purifier, initiating the quest Advice From Stormwind.

A Second Opinion:

Turn in "Advice From Stormwind" to Katherine the Pure, who will then offer the follow-up quest, A Second Opinion.

Earning Your Salt:

Speak with Ursula Deline in the Stormwind Mage Quarters to receive the quest Earning Your Salt.

Summoner's Salt:

In Redridge Mountains, defeat Blackrock Summoner until you obtain 14 Summoner's Salt.

It Must Be Destroyed:

Turn in the quest in Stormwind to receive the follow-up, It Must Be Destroyed.

Mote of Mannoroth:

Go to Demon Fall Canyon in Ashenvale and defeat Searing Infernal, Felguard, and Mannoroc Lasher until you collect 12 Mote of Mannoroth.

Mannoroth's Weapons:

Near 89 77, locate Mannoroth's weapons. Click on the circle beneath the weapons, causing a broken orb to drop. Interact with the orb to initiate the final quest in the chain, Return to Delgren.

Return to Delgren:

Once the final quest is completed, you will be rewarded with the Rune.

Avenger’s Shield Rune

Avenger's Shield – hurls a holy shield at the enemy, dealing (366 */ 100 + 0.091 * Spell power + 0.091 * Attack power) to (448 */ 100 + 0.091 * Spell power + 0.091 * Attack power) Holy damage, Dazing them and then jumping to additional nearby enemies.  Affects 3 total targets.  Lasts 10 sec.

Where to find:

Obtain Avenger's Shield by defeating the level 23 Elite mob Dro'zem the Blasphemous in the Redridge Mountains orc camp.

Divine Sacrifice Rune

Divine Sacrifice – 30% of all damage taken by party members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin for 10 sec. Damage which reduces the Paladin below 20% health will break the effect and grant the paladin 10% increased damage and healing done for 10 sec. Divine Sacrifice cannot be used while you are under the effects of Blessing of Protection, Divine Shield, or Divine Protection, and prevents you from being targeted by those abilities while it is active.

Where to find:

To acquire this rune from Grizzby in Ratchet, complete the following pre-quests:

Shredder Turbochargers:

Collect 16 Shredder Turbocharger by using the Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Shredders in Windshear Crag, Stonetalon Mountains.

Dark Iron Ordinance:

Gather 20 Dark Iron Ordinance by defeating Dark Iron Insurgent in North Loch Modan or Dark Iron Rifleman and other Dark Iron dwarves in North Wetlands.

Fish Oil:

Obtain 24 Fish Oil by defeating murlocs in Hillsbrad or Wetlands. Alternatively, you can find these items in the Auction House, as they are commonly available.

Beacon of Light Rune

Beacon of Light – the target becomes a Beacon of Light to all members of your party or raid within a 40 yard radius.  Any heals you cast on party or raid members will also heal the Beacon for 100% of the amount healed.  Only one target can be the Beacon of Light at a time. Lasts 1 min.

Where to find:

Attain Rune of Beckoning Light by turning in Supply Shipments for reputation, available for purchase from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction once Honored is achieved.
