World of Warcraft Forever Warrior Class Guide
This World of Warcraft Forever Warrior overview covers everything that changed for the class. It covers the Warrior's strengths and weaknesses, the systemic class changes that apply to every spec, how Arms, Fury, and Protection each evolved, the talent changes across all three trees, the best professions and gear priorities, and which races make the strongest Warriors.
WoW Forever Warrior Strengths and Weaknesses
The Warrior's core strengths are a dependable tanking role and strong melee damage fueled by a reworked Rage system, while its main weaknesses are heavy dependence on weapons and gear and a limit on how many enemies a tank can hold.
Strengths:
- A clear main-tank role, with Protection able to hold roughly 3 to 4 targets at once
- Strong melee damage in both Arms and Fury, with high damage on many raid bosses
- Rage that no longer depends on weapon damage or armor, so low-level gear feeds the resource as well as high-level gear
- Weaponmaster and Victory Rush, which add weapon flexibility and self-sustain
Weaknesses:
- Highly gear-dependent, with weapon quality mattering in every spec
- Tanks can only hold about 3 to 4 enemies, so dungeons reward coordination over mass-pulling
- Slam needs standing still to cast, which hurts against moving targets
- Rotation complexity varies sharply from spec to spec
Warrior Class Changes in WoW Forever
Warrior receives eight systemic changes in WoW Forever that apply to every spec:
- Rage from your own attacks is now normalized by weapon speed instead of damage dealt, roughly 3.46 Rage per second of weapon speed with one-handed weapons and 4.50 with two-handed ones. Critical strikes grant 100% more Rage, and Rage gained from taking damage ignores armor and absorb shields
- Victory Rush is a new level 20 ability: an instant attack with a 30-second cooldown that scales with Attack Power and heals you for 10% of your maximum health, usable for 20 seconds after you kill a non-trivial enemy
- Tactical Mastery is now a trained ability at level 14 that keeps 10 Rage when you switch stances, and Berserker Rage arrives at level 30 instead of 32
- Defensive cooldowns change: Shield Wall and Retaliation drop from a 30-minute to a 15-minute cooldown and no longer share it with Recklessness, while Shield Block lasts 7 seconds instead of 5 and blocks 2 attacks
- Threat tools are reworked: Taunt cooldown drops from 10 to 8 seconds, Thunder Clap works in Defensive Stance with a 6-second cooldown and slows the attack speed of up to 4 enemies by 20% for 30 seconds, Sunder Armor threat scales with Attack Power, and Shield Slam damage rises from 225-235 to 421-439
- Rend and Slam change: Rend gains Attack Power scaling and can critically strike, Rend and Sunder Armor now tap enemies for the Warrior, and Slam gets a rank 5 but its base cooldown rises from 15 to 18 seconds. Bloodrage also no longer puts you in combat
- Weapon skill is weaker: racial bonuses now add critical strike chance instead of skill, and weapon skill on gear is heavily reduced
- Skyborne can play Warrior on both factions
Warrior Specs in WoW Forever
Warrior has three specs in WoW Forever: Arms, Fury, and Protection.
- Arms is the two-handed damage and leveling spec, built around Mortal Strike, bleeds from Rend and Deep Wounds, Bloodthrill procs that unlock Overpower, and Weaponmaster for weapon-specific bonuses
- Fury is the dual-wield damage spec, built around Bloodthirst, a Whirlwind that hits with both weapons, Rage generation from Unbridled Wrath and Enrage, and the new Lingering Rage, Furious Precision, and Gore Drinker talents
- Protection is the tank spec, built around Shield Slam, Vanguard for Charge in Defensive Stance, Rage from blocks, dodges, and parries, and Bastion for extra damage with a shield
Warrior Talents in WoW Forever
Warrior keeps three talent trees and 51 talent points at level 60, with weapon specializations merged, several talents cut to fewer ranks, and ten new talents added.

Best Warrior Profession in WoW Forever
The strongest profession pairing for most Warriors is Mining and Blacksmithing, since Warriors use both melee weapons and mail and plate armor, and the new Forever recipes keep you well geared while leveling.
- Mining + Blacksmithing: Mining gathers ore while you quest, and Blacksmithing crafts mail and plate armor and weapons, plus Weapon Stones, consumables that add flat damage to your weapons and speed up kills at lower levels; many of the new recipes are Bind on Pickup, so they cannot be bought on the auction house
- Mining + Engineering: Engineering adds new schematics with useful effects and new trinkets, and Mining supplies its materials
- Skinning: an easy way to earn early gold, for example toward the level 40 mount, with a camp buff that gives 2% critical strike chance
- First Aid is worth keeping high, since cloth drops make it cheap, and Hamstring and Intimidating Shout give you windows to bandage during hard fights
Warrior Equipment in WoW Forever
Warriors wear Cloth, Leather, and Mail from the start, learn Plate armor at level 40, and can use Shields.

Unarmed is known by default for both factions, and each skill costs 10 silver apart from polearms, which cost 1 gold, so pick weapons by their own stats now that weapon skill matters less.
Warrior Stat Priorities
Each Warrior spec leans on different stats, listed here by how much weight the sources put on them.
|
Spec |
Stat Priority |
|---|---|
|
Arms |
Two-handed weapon damage > Strength and Attack Power > Critical Strike > Hit (bleeds and Overpower windows benefit from crit) |
|
Fury |
Hit > Strength and Attack Power > Critical Strike, with off-hand weapon quality weighted heavily |
|
Protection |
Stamina, Armor, and Defense for survival, then Strength, with Block Value feeding Shield Slam |
Hit also makes Taunt more reliable now that hit chance is unified, and weapon speed matters for Rage, not just damage. Sources expect the priorities to stay close to their Classic order.

- Windshaper Skyborne (Horde): Wind Blessed adds 1% Haste, Walk on Air lets you glide for 10 seconds, and Skysight raises run speed by 10%
What is the Best Race for Warrior

Tauren and Dwarf lead for tanking through extra health, a stun, and Stoneform, Night Elf adds dodge for tanks, and Undead is the top PvP pick for breaking fear.
